More Conditions We Treat

A closer look at a few common conditions we handle every day — in person in Forest Park, OH and by secure video across Ohio and Kentucky.

Common Cold

Runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, sneezing, and mild fatigue — the common cold is almost always viral and clears on its own in 7–10 days. Where we help is making sure it’s actually just a cold and not strep throat, the flu, COVID-19, or a sinus infection that needs treatment, and getting you comfortable faster.

A quick visit (in person or by video) can confirm what you’re dealing with and rule out anything more serious.

When to seek emergency care: See us if symptoms last more than 10 days, you have a high or persistent fever, or you have trouble breathing.

Pneumonia

Pneumonia is a lung infection that can cause a wet cough, fever, chills, chest discomfort, and feeling worn out — sometimes with shortness of breath. Our providers can evaluate your symptoms, listen to your lungs, run in-house lab work, and start the right treatment. If you need a higher level of care, we’ll get you there quickly.

When to seek emergency care: Go to the ER or call 911 for severe shortness of breath, bluish lips, chest pain, or confusion.

Constipation

Infrequent, hard, or difficult-to-pass stools are common and usually tied to diet, hydration, activity, or medication. We can evaluate what’s going on, rule out other causes, and recommend safe relief — from simple at-home steps to prescription options when needed.

When to seek emergency care: Seek prompt care for severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or blood in your stool.

Dehydration

Whether from summer heat, a stomach bug, or simply not drinking enough, dehydration shows up as dizziness, dark urine, dry mouth, headache, and fatigue. We can assess how severe it is and guide you on the fastest safe way to rehydrate. Mild to moderate dehydration is very treatable.

When to seek emergency care: Severe dehydration — fainting, confusion, a racing heart, or no urination — needs emergency care right away.

Abdominal Pain

Stomach pain has many causes: indigestion, a stomach bug, constipation, a urinary tract infection, and more. Our providers can evaluate common, non-emergency abdominal pain, run lab tests, and either treat you or point you to the right next step.

When to seek emergency care: Sudden, severe pain — especially with a rigid abdomen, vomiting blood, or a high fever — is an emergency. Call 911 or go to the ER.

Head Lice

An itchy scalp and tiny eggs (nits) clinging to the hair are the classic signs of head lice — extremely common in school-age kids and nothing to be embarrassed about. We can confirm it’s lice, recommend or prescribe an effective treatment, and walk you through clearing it from your household so it doesn’t come back.

Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are swollen veins around the rectum that can cause itching, discomfort, swelling, or a little bright-red bleeding during bowel movements. They’re very common and usually manageable. We can evaluate your symptoms, offer relief options, and advise you on when something more is needed.

When to seek emergency care: See a provider promptly if bleeding is heavy, persistent, or the pain is severe.

Pre-Operative Clearance

Many surgeries require a medical clearance — a check-up beforehand to confirm you’re healthy enough for the procedure and anesthesia. We can complete the history and physical, run the basic labs and EKG your surgeon asks for, and send the paperwork back so your surgery stays on schedule.

Bring the clearance form your surgeon’s office gave you, plus a list of your current medications.
