Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries we see. Most respond well to simple care, but it's worth ruling out a fracture.
Start with R.I.C.E.
- Rest — avoid putting weight on it
- Ice — 15–20 minutes every few hours for the first day or two
- Compression — an elastic wrap to limit swelling
- Elevation — keep the ankle above heart level when you can
Get it checked if
You can't bear weight, the joint looks deformed, there's numbness, or pain and swelling aren't improving after a couple of days. We can examine it, splint if needed, and get you on the road to recovery.
