Good wound care prevents infection and helps you heal with less scarring. Most minor cuts can be handled at home.
At-home care
- Wash your hands, then rinse the wound with clean water
- Apply gentle pressure to stop bleeding
- Use a thin layer of ointment and a clean bandage
- Change the dressing daily and watch for redness or drainage
Come in if
The cut is deep or gaping, bleeding won't stop, it was caused by a dirty or rusty object, or you can't get it clean. We provide cleaning, stitches, and tetanus boosters when needed.
