A TB skin test is a two-visit process: a tiny amount of testing fluid is placed under the skin of your forearm (about 5 minutes), then you must return in 48–72 hours so a provider can read the result. Miss that window and the test has to be repeated.

The QuantiFERON blood test needs just one visit — a standard blood draw — with lab results typically back in 1 to 3 business days. Many nursing programs and employers now prefer it, and it's the right choice if you've had the BCG vaccine, which can cause false-positive skin tests.

At Daystar in Forest Park, the skin test is $60 and the blood test is $95. Walk in any day we're open — no appointment needed.
