Urgent care is built for the problems that can't wait for a primary-care appointment but don't need an emergency room: fever and flu-like illness, sore throat and strep, cough and sinus infections, ear pain, pink eye, urinary symptoms, rashes and minor allergic reactions, vomiting and diarrhea, sprains and strains, minor cuts that may need closure, and minor burns.
Use the ER instead for chest pain or pressure, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke (face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech), severe bleeding, major head injury, or any symptom that feels life-threatening. When in doubt about a true emergency, call 911.
At Daystar in Forest Park we see walk-ins six days a week, most visits are done within the hour, and self-pay pricing is flat and public — $125 for a standard visit.
