Can dehydration cause headaches?
Yes — dehydration is one of the most common headache triggers, and rehydration often resolves it within 1–3 hours.
How do you treat food poisoning?
Mostly supportive: small sips of fluids, rest, bland food when ready. We add anti-nausea medication and rehydration guidance when you can't keep anything down — antibiotics only for specific bacterial causes.
Can I get a DOT physical if I take blood pressure medication?
Yes — controlled hypertension with medication is not disqualifying. You need your BP documented below Stage 3 levels at the time of examination.
Can I do a DOT physical while sick?
Better to wait if you have a fever or elevated blood pressure from illness — a bad-day reading can shorten your certification period. Minor colds are fine.
Do I need to fast before a DOT physical?
No fasting required. The urinalysis checks for sugar and protein, not a fasting glucose — eat normally, but skip the energy drinks (they raise blood pressure).
What if I wear glasses for my DOT physical?
Bring them — corrected vision counts. You need 20/40 or better in each eye, with glasses or contacts allowed. Your certificate will note the corrective lens requirement.
