How long does a sinus infection last?
Viral sinusitis improves in 7–10 days. Symptoms lasting beyond 10 days, or improving then worsening again, suggest bacterial infection that may need antibiotics.
Is a sinus infection contagious?
The sinusitis itself isn't contagious — but the cold virus that caused it is. You can spread the cold; the other person may or may not develop a sinus infection from it.
