Questions patients ask about Bronchitis & Cough Treatment
Is bronchitis contagious?
Acute bronchitis is usually caused by a contagious virus. The virus spreads for the first 2–5 days; the cough lingers up to 3 weeks due to airway irritation, not ongoing infection.
What is walking pneumonia?
Walking pneumonia (mycoplasma pneumonia) is a mild lung infection that feels like a bad cold — often diagnosed because a cough doesn't improve after 3 weeks.
When to go to urgent care for a cut?
Come in if a cut is deep or gaping, longer than about half an inch, still bleeding after 10–15 minutes of firm pressure, on the face or over a joint, or caused by something dirty, rusty, or a bite. Sooner is better — closure works best within hours.
Can urgent care treat a UTI?
Yes — urgent care diagnoses UTIs with on-site urinalysis and treats them with same-visit antibiotics. Fever with back or flank pain, vomiting, or UTI symptoms in pregnancy can signal a kidney infection and deserve prompt, higher-level evaluation.
What is a DOT physical?
A DOT physical is a federally required medical exam certifying that commercial drivers are healthy enough to operate safely. It must be performed by an FMCSA-certified examiner.
Do I need a DOT physical?
You need one if you drive a commercial motor vehicle over 10,000 lbs in interstate commerce, carry 9+ passengers for pay, or haul hazardous materials.
